A good definition of depression could be "the fatigue of being oneself".
I am sick and tired of reading and hearing phrases like "know yourself", "be the master of your life", "take control", "pursue your dreams" ... and more simplistic slogans of manipulative pseudo-coaches.
Humans have evolved a lot in intelligence, but I remind you that we have spent 2500 years putting soul and passion into the goal of knowing oneself, (philosophers are certainly not phenomena of our time), until forcing the arrival of a falsified enthusiasm, pluri replicated in social networks.
But no one mentions chance, chaos, injustice, inbreeding, luck ...
Is it not coincidental if we suddenly feel like useless failures, unable to have mastery over ourselves or to fit into these successful identities?
ENOUGH of stereotypical images of happy and successful lives, of well-decorated homes and tables, of plating with pictures and foam, of wavy hairstyles and forced smiling faces.
By dint of following (successful) models we have realised that WE ARE OF THE MONKEY AND WE FUCK.
This anguish alternates with the anxiety of wanting to be all in and have it all, and failure is the most likely consequence.
